Developed from the need to equip US Navy helicopter pilots with a small, handheld breathing device, the HEED line has been manufactured since 1979. The HP-4500 model combines a 2.9 cu ft carbon-fiber cylinder rated to 4,500 psi with a separate second-stage regulator and a standard 20-inch flexible braided hose. Applications described by the manufacturer include helicopters, fixed-wing aircraft, float planes, watercraft and vehicles operating around possible water emergencies. Submersible Systems describes HEED 3 as having the smallest footprint in the EBS market.

Made in USA · Since 1979

What's included

HEED 3 HP-4500 breathing device and cylinder

Included holster with mouthpiece cover and MOLLE-compatible attachment

Dial-gauge pressure indicator

20-inch flexible braided hose, two-stage breathing device and on/off knob

One refill adapter per HEED unit only if selected above

Nose clip, compressor, filling tank, life vest and PFD are sold separately.

Refilling your HEED

Optional 920CS stainless-steel air-compressor refill adapter (+$65).
