Refilling Spare Air
Four ways to refill your Spare Air: a SCUBA tank, a dive shop, a portable compressor or a hand pump. Choose the correct adapter and follow the instructions for your unit and filling equipment.

This guide covers 3000 psi Spare Air units. Fill to the pressure specified for your model.
01 · SCUBA tank
Use the 910C tank refill adapter with a full SCUBA cylinder. Pressure equalizes between the two cylinders, so a partly filled supply tank cannot completely fill your Spare Air.
The current 910C uses a bleed screw; the earlier 910S uses a pressure-release ring.

02 · Dive shop
A SCUBA dive shop can fill your unit using the optional 920C air compressor refill adapter. Take the correct adapter with you and have the technician fill to your unit’s rated pressure.

For personal use filling 1–5 units, the RovAir package includes a deluxe filter and your selected custom adapter. Choose 930C for Spare Air.
RovAir weighs 19 lb, offers adjustable automatic shutoff, and operates from 110V/220V AC or a 12V car battery. Set the shutoff to the pressure required by your cylinder.

Our high-pressure hand pump kit includes the DryPac filter and 930C adapter. It needs no electricity or SCUBA tank; you supply the pumping effort.
Take breaks to let the pump cool. The estimates below come from our own tests.

Times vary with starting pressure and filling conditions. The 2 cu ft row applies to compatible 3000 psi units. The current standard Spare Air diving packages are 3 and 6 cu ft.
If Spare Air was emptied underwater, refer to the owner’s manual and have the unit serviced as required before refilling. Use the specified filling equipment, filtration and adapters, and follow the pressure-release instructions before disconnecting.
